Does your Topsy have a few wee strands of whispy wool for hair? She looks remarkably like my Topsy. I inherited her from my paternal grandmother. We lived at her house in Timaru post WWII because of the housing shortage in NZ.
We were only ever allowed to play with Topsy if we were sick enough to be confined to bed. Alas, I was a healthy child so seldom got to play with her. She currently resides in my wardrobe…to protect her for my middle grand daughter who will inherit my Topsy. Ahem. I have intended for years to make her a pretty layette, but she is still sans any clothes.
